The Nautitech Open 46 3-cabin version has an elongated cockpit that joins seamlessly with the saloon, which has an aft-facing U shaped galley to starboard, a lounge area to starboard, and the option of a chaise longue with ottomans, or additional storage with more refrigeration and freezer space.

Marc Lombard has designed the Nautitech Open 46 utilising the fact that cats get their speed more from their fineness of hull ratio – hull length divided by waterline beam, more than from their light displacement – although displacement is mighty important too, and Nautitech does an outstanding job of building a light, strong, stiff boat. Skinny below the waterline does not mean skinny accommodations as the cat boasts an aggressive hard chine above the waterline,  that not only adds copious volume to the cabins but also cuts down any spray coming up from a choppy sea.

A high bridge deck clearance and low centre of gravity make this a very comfortable cat to sail offshore. The option of an inner forestay, self-tacking jib, genoa, code zero and downwind sails set on top-down furlers, makes her a serious contender for globetrotting adventurers. A simpler specification makes for an extremely rewarding catamaran to coastal hop or as a luxurious daysailer.
