Whatever you want from a Rogac sailing trip, from the cuisine to the island hopping a Rogac boat rental is going to be an unforgettable experience.

The main port town on the island Solta, just 9 nautical miles from Split, a Rogac yacht charter could be a nice alternative to starting your sailing holiday away from a busy yacht charter location like Split or Trogir.

Solta is an island just a short hop by ferry from Split City, the second biggest city in Croatia. The island is viewed as a suburb of the city indeed, with municipal buses run by Split's council operating to all the towns and villages.

Rogac itself is the main port of entry for Solta island, and as such is often full of people on their way through the village to their destination on Solta. For you the yacht charterer, you will likely have to pop into nearby Grohote to buy your groceries and supplies for your sailing trip. This is a 15 minute walk from the charter base and food deliveries can be arranged for you should you not want to either pay a taxi or struggle with armloads of shopping bags for your charterholiday.

For those sailing to Solta from another charter base, there are limited moorings but these are generally more available Sundays to Thursdays thanks to a charter company owning the majority of them. The Bay of Rogac is sheltered from all but the winter northerly Bora and is a good port for you to moor in ahead of exploring this quiet, relaxed Dalmatiaisland.

A short sail from Rogac is the old town of Trogir, just to the west of Split. With a number of marinas to choose from you can wander the streets and enjoy the atmosphere, as well as perhaps going to one of the beaches nearby.

Having chosen to start your yacht charter from an island, why not go island hopping? On a week or two's sailingholiday there are a lot of great places to visit, both bustling and quiet. Just to the SE is Hvar Town on the island of Hvar that has a reputation as one of the best beach resorts on the Adriatic. This is almost the polar opposite of Solta Island as not only does it have nightlife but it is up there among the best you'll find in Croatia in this regard!

There are quiet coves to moor in and beaches accessible only by sea as well as working fishing villages on islands renowned for their natural beauty. A few days' sail north are the Kornati Islands - a national park preserved for its astounding natural beauty, while even those not so protected aren't exactly industrial wastelands!

How To Get To Rogac

Most people will fly into Split Airport that has connections to destinations all over Europe. For those flying in from outside of Europe, Zagreb Airport is the main one for Croatia and there are buses and flights between the two cities.

To get to Rogac you will need to take a ferry from Split City Port, just 9 nautical miles from the Solta island port and charter base. A slow ferry takes an hour while a fast ferry takes half an hour to do the trip.
