Frequently Asked Questions: Speedboat Charter

Why should I choose a speedboat for my coastal holiday?
Speedboats offer the ultimate freedom to explore at your own pace. Their small size allows them to enter shallow caves and narrow bays that larger vessels simply cannot reach.
Is it easy to drive a speedboat if I am a beginner?
Small speedboats are very intuitive to handle. Most rental providers give a full safety briefing and a technical demonstration, ensuring even first-timers feel comfortable behind the wheel.
Can I rent a speedboat for a few hours?
Yes, unlike larger yachts that often require weekly or daily bookings, speedboats are frequently available for half-day or hourly rentals, making them a flexible and budget-friendly option.
What should I pack for a day out on a speedboat?
We recommend packing light: high-factor sunscreen, towels, plenty of water, and a waterproof bag for your electronics. Most speedboats have small storage compartments for your essentials.
Are speedboats safe for children?
Speedboats are safe for children when proper safety protocols are followed. All passengers should wear life jackets while the boat is in motion, and many boats feature high railings for extra security.

Speedboat Hire: The Ultimate Day Trip on the Water

Experience the thrill of skimming across crystal-clear waters with a speedboat charter. Perfect for unforgettable day trips, renting a small powerboat gives you the ultimate freedom to explore hidden coves, snorkel at secluded beaches, and hop between coastal towns at your own pace. Most speedboats are agile, open-deck vessels (such as RIBs or center-consoles) without cabins, designed purely for fun, sun, and easy handling on the water.

Why Rent a Speedboat?

Whether you are looking for an adrenaline-fueled afternoon or a peaceful family picnic in a shallow bay, a speedboat offers incredible flexibility:

  • License-Free Options: In many Mediterranean destinations, smaller speedboats (typically under 15-30 HP, depending on local laws) can be rented without a boating license. You will receive a quick safety briefing and driving lesson before you head out!
  • Bareboat for the Experienced: If you hold a valid powerboat license (like an ICC or RYA Level 2), you can bareboat larger, high-performance speedboats and RIBs, giving you the speed to cover massive distances in a single day.
  • Agility & Shallow Draft: Pull right up to the beach, navigate into narrow sea caves, and drop your anchor in the shallowest, most vibrant turquoise waters.

Greece Rent a small boat to discover secluded, roadless beaches across the Ionian or Cycladic islands.
Italy Cruise the glamorous Amalfi Coast, or explore the dramatic cliffs of Lake Garda and Lake Como.

Skippered vs. Bareboat Speedboat Charters

If you don't have a license but want to experience a high-horsepower boat, simply opt for a skippered rental. A local captain will drive the boat, take you to the best-hidden snorkeling spots, and handle all the anchoring, allowing you to sit back and enjoy a few drinks in the sun. For those who love being at the helm, a bareboat rental offers the ultimate private adventure.

Captain’s Insider Tip: Beat the Afternoon Chop “Speedboats are light and fast, which is great for agility, but it means they can bounce around in the afternoon waves. Start your day trip early in the morning when the water is glassy and flat, and head back to port before the late afternoon sea breezes pick up!”
