Ever dreamed of sailing to your favourite travel destinations on the most impressive luxury yachts in the world?

Every year, the list of the best luxury yachts in the world changes as new mega-builds are launched and iconic vessels get refitted. These aren’t just boats they’re floating cities, design experiments, and sometimes even cautionary tales about excess.

Here’s a grounded look at some of the best luxury yachts in the world right now: the ones people talk about, the ones you can actually charter, and the ones that set the benchmark for what “luxury” really means at sea.

Azzam – The Benchmark for Size

At over 180 meters, Azzam is still the record-holder for length and remains one of the best luxury yachts in the world for sheer scale.

  • Privately owned, not available for charter.
  • Built by Lürssen Yachts, designed to redefine what a yacht could be.
  • Key insight: its size is impressive on paper, but in practice, it’s too large for most marinas.

Azzam shows how far engineering can push boundaries, but also why “biggest” isn’t always “best.”

Eclipse – The Celebrity Favourite

Roman Abramovich’s Eclipse is not only one of the best luxury yachts in the world, it’s also one of the most famous.

  • Once the largest yacht before Azzam.
  • Features: two helipads, missile defense system, two swimming pools, and a mini-submarine.
  • A floating fortress that sparked the era of yachts as private security havens.

Despite being overshadowed in size, Eclipse remains iconic for its extravagance and celebrity status.

Dilbar – Volume Over Length

At 156 meters, Dilbar may not win the length battle, but it dominates in sheer volume.

  1. I love spending time on yachts during the summer, but I will probably never have the opportunity of being on one of these ten yachts. However, I would definitely choose to take a ride on the Streets of Monaco if I had the chance. I would spend my time swimming, playing tennis and, of course, taking a ride in the submarine.

  2. These boats are beautiful, not to mention they’re massive! Holy cow, they’re very expensive too. Which is funny, because my boss would like to rent one and take all the employees on a cruise. I’d like to know how much they’re to rent.
