Halloween yacht charter deals: frequently asked questions

How much can I save on a yacht charter with the Halloween deals?
Up to 70% on a charter that starts in April, up to 60% in May and up to 50% in June. The discount varies by boat and operator, and each listing shows it next to the original price.
What do the Halloween yacht charter deals include besides the discount?
Many discounted boats come with free gear, such as a stand-up paddleboard, snorkel equipment, an outboard engine for the tender, a welcome pack or Wi-Fi. The free items are listed per boat, and not every boat has them.
Do I need a boating license to rent a yacht with a Halloween deal?
Not if you book a captain or a crewed yacht: the captain holds the license. To skipper the boat yourself on a bareboat charter, someone aboard needs a recognized sailing license, and some countries also require a VHF radio certificate.
Is April a good month for a Mediterranean yacht charter?
April is the cheapest month for a Mediterranean yacht charter, with discounts of up to 70% and very quiet anchorages. The trade-off is cool water for swimming. Groups who want warm water pick late May or June, at up to 60% or 50% off.
Can I use a Halloween yacht charter deal for a Memorial Day week trip?
Yes, if the charter starts in May. May departures carry discounts of up to 60%, and booking at Halloween gives you the widest choice of boats for that week.
Which country is best for a spring yacht charter with a Halloween deal?
Greece and Croatia have the most boats, more than 3,800 each, so they give you the most discounted spring weeks to choose from. For June in Greece, the Ionian islands are calmer than the Aegean.
When do the Halloween yacht charter deals end?
Each charter operator sets and ends its own discount, so a deal can change without notice. The price on the listing is the current one.
Does the Best Price Guarantee apply to Halloween yacht charter deals?
Yes. If you find the same boat for the same dates at a lower advertised price somewhere else, we match it.

Why book a spring yacht rental at Halloween

  • Plenty of lead time: about six months to sort flights and vacation days before the cheap spring weeks are gone.
  • The biggest discounts land in April: operators would rather sail a boat at a lower price than leave it at the dock before summer demand shows up.
  • Gear you'd otherwise pay for: on many boats the paddleboard, snorkel sets or tender outboard come free instead of as rental add-ons.
  • No boating license needed with a captain: if nobody in your group has a sailing license, add a captain and the paperwork is theirs.
  • Easier marinas: spring berths are simpler to get than in peak summer, so you spend less time circling the harbor.
Captain's Insider Tip: "Want the discount and warm water? Aim for late May or June. April is the cheapest month, but the Mediterranean is still chilly for swimming. If your group is set on Greece in June, pick the Ionian side, Lefkada or Corfu, over the Cyclades: the meltemi wind builds across the Aegean as summer arrives and can keep you in port for a day."

How booking works

  1. Set a destination, spring dates and your group size.
  2. Check each listing for the discount next to the original price and any free gear.
  3. Book instantly, which works for 90% of our boats, or send a request.
  4. Pay the deposit and the boat is yours for those dates.
  5. Get the marina address and check-in time, then show up and sail.

What does the price cover?

The boat, its standard equipment and the free gear listed with it. You pay fuel, marina fees outside the home port, final cleaning and a captain, if you hire one, on top, and each listing spells those out. Shopping by boat type?
