Charter a Gulet

A gulet is a traditional wooden motor-sailer built for the eastern Mediterranean - wide beams, shaded decks and private cabins make them the most comfortable way to cruise Turkey and Greece. All gulets come with a full crew, so you focus on the itinerary while the captain, cook and deckhands handle the rest. Browse crewed gulets from established bases in Bodrum, Fethiye and Göcek.

Frequently Asked Questions: Gulet Charters

What is a gulet and why is it unique for a yacht charter?
A gulet is a traditional wooden motor-sailer, originally from the Mediterranean. Unlike modern yachts, gulets emphasize hand-crafted aesthetic and massive deck space, offering a "boutique hotel" experience on the water.
Does a gulet rental always include a full crew?
Yes, almost all gulet charters are fully crewed. This typically includes a captain, a private chef, and stewards to ensure a high-end, personalized service throughout your journey.
Is a gulet suitable for large groups or events?
Absolutely. Gulets are among the best vessels for large groups, often accommodating 12 to 30+ guests. Their wide beams and large dining areas make them perfect for family reunions or corporate retreats.
Can a gulet actually sail or does it only use the engine?
While gulets are equipped with sails and can use them in favorable winds for the atmosphere, they primarily rely on their powerful engines to ensure you reach the most beautiful coves on schedule.
What kind of food is served on a private gulet charter?
Most gulet charters focus on high-quality, local Mediterranean cuisine. Your private chef prepares fresh seafood, mezes, and local delicacies tailored to your group's preferences.

Gulet Rental: The Ultimate Crewed Luxury Experience

Step aboard a traditional wooden yacht and immerse yourself in the romance of the "Blue Voyage." A gulet rental offers a completely unique, floating boutique hotel experience. Originally built by master craftsmen in Turkey for fishing and sponge diving, modern gulets have been transformed into magnificent, fully crewed luxury vessels. With their wide beams and grand aesthetics, chartering a gulet provides an idyllic, stress-free vacation where your only job is to relax under the Mediterranean sun while a dedicated crew caters to your every need.

Why Choose a Gulet Over a Standard Yacht?

While bareboat sailing is about the thrill of navigation, a gulet charter is entirely focused on profound relaxation, 5-star hospitality, and ultimate comfort:

  • Unrivaled Deck Space: Designed specifically for outdoor living, gulets feature massive, cushioned aft decks with grand dining tables, and expansive foredecks covered in plush sunpads. There is plenty of room for everyone to lounge comfortably.
  • Bespoke Crewed Service: Every gulet comes with a professional crew, typically including a captain, deckhands, and a private chef. The culinary experience is a major highlight, featuring exquisite, freshly prepared local cuisine.
  • Perfect for Large Groups: With wide, stable hulls and a high cabin capacity (often 4 to 8+ en-suite cabins), gulets are the ultimate choice for large families, reunions, or groups of friends wanting to share a majestic vacation together.

What to Expect on a Blue Voyage

A gulet vacation is often referred to as a "Blue Cruise" or "Blue Voyage." The focus is on gentle motor-sailing from one pristine bay to the next. You will typically spend your mornings swimming in crystal-clear, secluded anchorages, enjoy long, lavish lunches on the aft deck, and spend your afternoons exploring coastal ruins or napping in the shade. It is a slow-paced, deeply rejuvenating experience.

Captain’s Insider Tip: Packing for a Gulet “Life on a gulet is incredibly relaxed and barefoot. Leave the formal wear and hard-shell suitcases at home! You will spend 90% of your time in swimwear, light cover-ups, and bare feet on the pristine wooden decks. Pack light, bring a good book, and let the crew take care of the rest.”
