Frequently Asked Questions: RIB Rentals

What exactly is a RIB and why should I rent one?
A RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) combines a solid hull with inflatable tubes. This design makes them incredibly buoyant, stable, and fast, offering a safe and exciting way to explore coastal waters, hidden caves, and remote beaches.
Do I need a license to drive a RIB?
This depends on the engine size and local regulations. In many destinations, smaller RIBs can be rented without a license, while high-performance models require a permit. You can also hire a professional skipper for a stress-free day.
Are RIBs safe for families with children?
Yes, RIBs are known as the "4x4s of the sea" because they are virtually unsinkable. Their stability and soft tubes make them very safe for children, providing a comfortable ride even if the water gets slightly choppy.
Can I use a RIB for water sports?
Absolutely. Most RIBs are equipped with powerful outboard engines, making them ideal for towing tubes, wakeboarding, or water-skiing. They are also the preferred choice for snorkeling and diving trips.
How many people can fit on a typical RIB rental?
RIBs come in various sizes, typically accommodating between 6 and 12 passengers. They offer a social and open-air environment, perfect for a fun day out with a group of friends or family.

RIB Rental: Versatile, Fast, and Fun

Explore the coastline like never before with a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) rental. Known for their exceptional stability, safety, and speed, RIBs range from small, nimble day-boats to luxurious, high-performance Maxi-RIBs. Whether you want a quick bareboat rental to discover hidden coves or a skippered luxury RIB to cruise the Mediterranean in style, these versatile vessels offer the ultimate open-air adventure on the water.

Why Rent a RIB?

RIBs are the SUVs of the sea. Whether you are seeking a family beach-hopping trip or a fast, adrenaline-fueled coastal run, they offer distinct advantages:

  • Unmatched Stability & Safety: The inflatable tubes provide incredible buoyancy and shock absorption, making RIBs some of the safest and most seaworthy boats available, even in choppy conditions.
  • Agility & Shallow Draft: Drop anchor in inches of water, pull right up to sandy beaches, and navigate tight sea caves that larger yachts simply cannot reach.
  • From Basic to Luxury: Choose a small, easy-to-drive RIB for a simple picnic, or upgrade to a luxury Maxi-RIB featuring sunpads, T-tops, a cabin, and twin 300HP engines for a premium day out.

Skippered vs. Bareboat RIB Rentals

If you hold a valid powerboat license or boater safety card, a bareboat RIB rental gives you the ultimate freedom to explore at your own pace. If you lack a license or simply want to relax, a skippered RIB is the perfect solution. Your local captain will handle the navigation, take you to the best secret snorkeling spots, and ensure a stress-free day on the water.

Captainโ€™s Insider Tip: Pack Smart for a RIB โ€œRIBs are open boats, meaning you are fully exposed to the sun and sea spray. Always bring plenty of high-SPF sunscreen, a windbreaker, and pack your belongings in a dry bag to keep them safe from splashing!โ€
