Frequently asked questions about Halloween boat charter deals

What are the Halloween boat charter deals on Borrow A Boat?
They are partner discounts on charters that start in April, May or June: up to 70% off April departures, up to 60% off May and up to 50% off June. Many of the discounted boats also include free extras such as an outboard engine, a stand-up paddleboard or snorkelling gear. Every boat type and every charter type is covered: bareboat, skippered and crewed.
How much can I save on a spring yacht charter with the Halloween deals?
Up to 70% on a yacht charter starting in April, up to 60% in May and up to 50% in June. The exact discount depends on the boat and the operator and is shown next to the original price on each boat.
Why is a boat charter in April cheaper than a boat charter in June?
Charter operators price by demand. April opens the Mediterranean season, fewer people travel and the sea is still cool, so operators discount hardest to get their boats sailing. Demand rises through May into June and the discounts get smaller.
Which free extras come with a Halloween boat charter deal?
It depends on the boat. Extras on discounted boats include an outboard engine for the dinghy, a stand-up paddleboard, snorkelling equipment, a welcome pack and Wi-Fi. Each boat lists its own free extras, and not every discounted boat has one.
Can I book a Halloween deal boat charter without a sailing licence?
Yes. Choose a boat with a skipper or a fully crewed yacht and the skipper holds the licence. For a bareboat charter, where you sail yourself, at least one person aboard needs a recognised sailing licence, and some countries also ask for a VHF radio certificate.
Where is the best place to sail a discounted spring yacht charter in April, May or June?
Croatia and Greece each have more than 3,800 boats on Borrow A Boat, so they offer the widest choice of discounted spring weeks. In June, the Ionian Sea in Greece is calmer than the Aegean, where the meltemi wind builds over the summer. Italy, Spain and Turkey are good alternatives with smaller fleets.
How long are the Halloween boat charter deals available?
Each discount is set by the charter operator and can change or end without notice, so the price on the boat page is the current one. Booking early also gives you the widest choice of boats for the busy spring weeks around Easter and the May bank holidays.
Is a Halloween deal price on Borrow A Boat the best price for that boat?
Yes. Our Best Price Guarantee applies to discounted boats too: if you find the same boat for the same dates at a lower advertised price elsewhere, we match it.

Why book a spring boat rental now

  • The deepest cuts come early in the season: April carries the biggest discounts because operators want their boats sailing before summer demand arrives.
  • Free extras you would otherwise rent: an outboard for the tender, a SUP or a snorkelling set are add-ons on a normal charter. On many of these boats they come with it.
  • First pick of the spring weeks: booking at Halloween gives you the full choice of boats for Easter, the May bank holidays and Whitsun, before other groups take them.
  • Quieter anchorages: spring bays and town quays are calmer than in July and August, so finding a berth for the night is easier.
  • No licence needed with a skipper: if nobody in your group holds a sailing licence, pick a skippered or crewed boat and the skipper carries the paperwork.
Captain's Insider Tip: "Choose the month by what you want from the water. April gives you the biggest discount and near-empty bays, but the sea is still cold, so plan more harbour towns than swim stops. May suits most groups: long days, mild air and up to 60% off. June brings warm water and the first summer crowds. If it is Greece in June, take the Ionian side (Lefkada or Corfu) over the Cyclades, because the meltemi builds across the Aegean as summer arrives."
