Why Start Your Sailing Vacation in Kos?

The Longest Sailing Season: Due to its southern location near the Turkish coast, the Dodecanese stays warm much longer than the Ionian or the Sporades. You can enjoy fantastic, sunny sailing conditions here from early May all the way through late October.

  • Incredible Diversity: A sailboat in Kos gives you immediate access to a massive variety of landscapes. Sail north to the rugged climbing paradise of Kalymnos, or sail south to drop anchor right next to the active, smoking volcano of Nisyros.
  • World-Class Marina: Kos Marina is widely considered one of the best-equipped and most organized marinas in Greece, making your check-in, grocery provisioning, and departure incredibly smooth.
Captain’s Insider Tip: Sailing the Meltemi “The Dodecanese experiences the Meltemi wind in July and August, blowing strongly from the northwest. A monohull handles this beautifully. Plan to sail upwind (north) early in your trip when you are fresh, and enjoy a fast, relaxing downwind sail back to Kos at the end of your week!”
