Frequently Asked Questions: Mykonos Catamaran Rentals

Why is a catamaran the best choice for a Mykonos yacht rental?
Mykonos is known for the strong Meltemi winds of the Cyclades. A catamaran’s dual-hull design provides the necessary stability and safety to navigate these waters comfortably while offering expansive deck space for luxury socializing.
Can I sail to Delos and Rhenia from Mykonos on a catamaran?
Yes, a catamaran is the perfect vessel for a day trip to the sacred island of Delos and the uninhabited beaches of Rhenia. Its shallow draft allows you to anchor closer to the crystal-clear turquoise shores than a standard sailboat.
Is a captain required for a catamaran charter in Mykonos?
While bareboat options exist for licensed sailors, most guests choose a skippered catamaran rental. A professional captain handles the challenging Cycladic winds, allowing you to focus on the island's world-famous beach clubs and sunset views.
What luxury amenities are included in a Mykonos catamaran rental?
Luxury catamarans in Mykonos often feature air conditioning, en-suite cabins, and high-end sound systems. They provide a VIP environment that matches the cosmopolitan lifestyle and high standards of the island.
When is the best time for a catamaran holiday in Mykonos?
The peak season is from June to September. If you prefer calmer winds while still enjoying warm Mediterranean weather, May and October are excellent months for a private catamaran charter in the Cyclades.

Why Rent a Catamaran in Mykonos?

Stability in the Aegean: The Cyclades are famous for the summer Meltemi wind, which can create choppy seas. A catamaran’s wide beam and twin hulls provide unmatched stability, meaning your boat stays flat while sailing and anchored, preventing seasickness and keeping your crew comfortable.

  • The Delos & Rhenia Escape: Escape the bustling crowds by taking a short sail to the ancient ruins of Delos (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and the pristine, secluded turquoise bays of Rhenia.
  • Shallow Draft Magic: A catamaran allows you to anchor much closer to the shore. Drop anchor right off legendary southern beaches like Psarou (Nammos) or Super Paradise and enjoy the VIP lifestyle from your own private deck.
Captain’s Insider Tip: Hire a Skipper “The Aegean winds can be quite strong in July and August. If you are not highly experienced with the Meltemi, hiring a local skipper in Mykonos is the best choice. They know exactly which bays are protected from the wind, ensuring a stress-free, luxurious vacation!”
