Frequently asked questions

What happens when I request a quote?
Once we receive your request, we will confirm the availability of the boat, as well as check for alternative ones. To ensure your experience is the best it can be, we may contact you to discuss your request in detail. Let us do the research for you - free of charge.
When can I get in touch with the captain/skipper?
The timing depends on your charter type. For crewed charters, we can provide the captain's contact details upon request. For bareboat charters with a hired skipper, you can request the contact information 1-3 weeks before departure.
What is the Charter Fee?
The Charter Fee is an additional, obligatory cost, which typically includes the end cleaning of the boat, home port fees, and linen & towels. The details of the charter fee differ depending on the boat, location and charter partner.
Are there any other costs I should be aware of?
There are marina fees and fuel costs which vary depending on the type, duration and location of your sailing holiday. Marina fees need to be paid at each marina you choose to dock overnight - the amount varies but you may be able to find this information in advance by contacting the marinas directly. Fuel costs depend on whether you’re sailing a motorboat or a sailboat. You can estimate fuel costs by double-checking your chosen boat’s engine, and the expected distance you aim to sail.

Why Rent a Sailboat in Biograd?

Gateway to Kornati: Biograd is the closest mainland port to the Kornati archipelago. You can raise your sails and be in the park within a few hours, maximizing your nature time.

  • Racing Heritage: The Pašman Channel, located just outside the marina, is a natural wind tunnel. It offers consistent, fun sailing conditions that have made Biograd a favorite for regattas and sailing schools.
  • Bang for Your Buck: Because there are so many charter companies based in Marina Kornati, the competition keeps prices lower than in Split or Dubrovnik. You often get more boat for your money here.
  • Marina Convenience: The marina is integrated into the town. You have immediate access to supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants, making stocking up easy.
Captain's Insider Tip: "For a truly authentic sailor's meal, sail to the island of **Žut** (just outside Kornati NP) and dock at the **Fešta** restaurant. It's a legendary stop for sailors crossing the Adriatic. They have excellent moorings, water, and electricity."

Top-Rated Sailboats in Biograd

Biograd fleets are famous for their tough, family-friendly cruisers. Here are three top picks:

  • Bavaria Cruiser 46 Style: The gold standard for charter boats. It offers 4 cabins, a huge swim platform, and is super easy to handle. The "Style" version adds nicer interior finishes.
  • Dufour 41 Performance: A new model that focuses on the joy of sailing. With a wide hull for stability and a well-designed cockpit, it’s perfect for active families.
  • Bavaria C50: A massive cruiser for big groups. With 5 cabins and a separate skipper cabin, it offers the space of a small catamaran with the thrill of a monohull.

Logistics

Fuel Station: There is a fuel dock right in the city port, just next to the marina entrance. It is convenient, but try to gas up on Friday morning rather than afternoon to avoid the lines.
