Frequently Asked Questions: Volos Catamaran Rentals

Why is a catamaran the best choice for exploring the Pagasetic Gulf?
A catamaran offers exceptional stability and expansive deck space, which is perfect for enjoying the calm, mirror-like waters of the Pagasetic Gulf. Its design ensures a comfortable environment for families exploring the mythic Pelion coastline.
Can a catamaran anchor closer to the hidden beaches of Pelion?
Yes, the shallow draft of a catamaran allows you to anchor much closer to the shore than a monohull. This is ideal for visiting the secluded emerald coves of the Pelion peninsula that are otherwise inaccessible.
Is a skipper recommended for a catamaran charter from Volos?
While bareboat options are available, many guests choose a skippered catamaran. A local captain knows the best-hidden fishing villages in the gulf and the safest routes into the Northern Sporades archipelago.
What luxury amenities are typical for a Volos catamaran rental?
Most catamarans in Volos feature spacious saloons, en-suite cabins, and large trampolines for sunbathing. They provide a "floating villa" experience that is perfect for a relaxing holiday in the sheltered waters of Central Greece.
Is Volos a good starting point for a catamaran trip to the Sporades?
Absolutely. Starting from Volos allows you to enjoy the calm gulf waters before crossing to Skiathos or Skopelos. A catamaran provides a stable and social platform for this scenic transition from the mainland to the islands.

Why Rent a Catamaran in Volos?

Unmatched Stability: Twin hulls eliminate leaning while sailing and provide a peaceful, flat platform at anchor. This is incredibly reassuring when crossing the channel from the Pelion peninsula to the Sporades.

  • Shallow Draft: Navigate into the shallowest turquoise waters of the Pagasetic Gulf or the sandy bays of Skiathos, reaching spots that deeper-draft vessels simply cannot access.
  • Expansive Social Spaces: From wide trampoline nets for sunbathing to panoramic salons, catamarans offer the best layout for entertaining large groups of friends or family.
Captain’s Insider Tip: The Pagasetic Gulf “Take advantage of your catamaran’s stability and space to host a spectacular dinner on deck while anchored in the Pagasetic Gulf. The waters here are exceptionally flat. Spend your first night at the car-free Trikeri Island before venturing out into the open Aegean.”
