Split Catamaran Charter FAQ

How much does it cost to charter a catamaran in Split?
Catamaran prices in Split range from €3,500 per week for smaller models to over €15,000 for luxury power-cats. Prices peak in July and August. In addition to the base price, you should budget for the "charter pack" (final cleaning) and fuel. Note that marinas in nearby Hvar and Vis charge catamarans 50-100% more than sailboats due to their wide beam.
Which marina in Split is best for a catamaran departure?
Most catamaran charters depart from ACI Marina Split, Marina Kaštela, or Marina Baotić (Trogir). ACI Split is closest to the Old Town, while Marina Kaštela is the primary hub for larger multihulls and offers the quickest access to the airport (SPU).
Do I need a skipper for a catamaran rental in Split?
ou can rent bareboat if you have a valid ICC or RYA Day Skipper license and a VHF radio certificate. However, because catamarans are difficult to dock in tight Dalmatian ports during the peak season, many guests hire a local skipper to handle the logistics and find the best hidden bays on Brač and Šolta.
What is the best 7-day catamaran route from Split?
he classic "Central Dalmatian" route is ideal for catamarans. Start in Split, sail to the Golden Horn in Brač, visit the vibrant Hvar Town, explore the Blue Cave on Biševo, and anchor in the protected bays of Vis. Catamarans are perfect for this route as their shallow draft allows you to get closer to the turquoise shores of the Pakleni Islands.

Why Rent a Catamaran from Split?

Space and Comfort: The modern catamarans in our Split fleet offer effectively double the living space of a monohull. With four corner cabins and a central salon, they provide unmatched privacy.

  • Marina Accessibility: Split and nearby Kaštela have the widest selection of catamarans in the Mediterranean.
  • Shallow Draft: With drafts often under 1.5m, you can anchor closer to the Golden Horn beach on Brač than any sailboat.
  • Stable Platform: The dual hulls prevent rolling, ensuring your drinks stay on the table and your guests stay comfortable, even if the afternoon Mistral picks up.
Captain's Insider Tip: "If you are chartering a catamaran from Split in July or August, do not try to dock in Hvar Town harbor—it is too small for wide beams. Instead, book a buoy or berth at ACI Marina Palmižana across the channel and take a 10-minute water taxi into the nightlife. It is quieter, safer, and much more scenic."

Top-Rated Catamarans in Split

Our Split fleet features the latest models from the world's top shipyards. Here are three of our most popular choices:

  • Bali Catspace: Revolutionary design. The entire rear wall lifts up like a garage door, creating a massive indoor-outdoor living area. It also features a solid forward deck lounge, perfect for sunbathing.
  • Lagoon 42: The world's best-selling catamaran for a reason. It offers the perfect balance of size and ease of handling, making it a favorite for bareboat skippers navigating the Dalmatian islands.
  • Lagoon 55: The ultimate luxury experience. With a massive flybridge and high-end finish, this yacht is ideal for skippered charters where you want to entertain in style.

Logistics & Mooring Fees

Budget for Marinas: Catamarans are wide, so marinas charge 50-80% more than for monohulls. In peak season, a night in a premium marina like Hvar or Korčula can cost €150-€250. To save money, many crews anchor in free bays like Tiha on Šolta and use the dinghy to go ashore.
