Yes. Like a car, a boat ages and shows wear over the years. But charter companies and boat owners inspect and maintain their boats regularly, and they have to meet the safety rules for charter boats: safety checks, maintained safety equipment and the local regulations.
Older boats are often cheaper to rent, so a well-kept older boat can be a good way to save money.
What about the navigation equipment?
If you need specific, up-to-date navigation equipment for your trip, for example a chartplotter or autopilot, ask when you book. We check with the charter company whether the boat has been fitted with it.
