On this page

Your charter company may sell a package of services with the boat. It goes by different names, such as charter package, comfort package, welcome package, sports package or VIP package. The contents vary from company to company, so check what yours includes.

What is usually in a charter package?

The basics are often:

  • cleaning of the boat
  • mooring for the first and last night
  • bed linen and towels
  • cooking gas
  • a diver's check of the hull at check-out

These are usually mandatory, so you pay for them whether you want them or not.

What some packages add

  • an outboard engine for the dinghy
  • beach towels
  • bathroom amenities

What to check

Some charter companies charge items such as the outboard engine or bed linen and towels as separate extras rather than including them in the package. Packages can also differ by boat type or destination.

Your booking agent can tell you exactly what your package includes. More on extras: What are mandatory extras? and What are optional extras?
